Alterations Guideline
For those who want to get the most perfect, tailored fit, we have recommendations below on how to achieve the best finish for your garment:
What if the waist fits, but the bust is too small?
We recommend first seeing if loosening the corset lacing in the front will allow for enough ease to accommodate fit. If you need more room, you or a tailor can let out the side seam or center back closure; on average, most of the seams have a 5/8" seam allowance.
What if the waist fits, but the bust is too large?
We recommend you or a tailor adding darts or taking in fabric at the side seam or center back closure to take in excess fabric and create a tailored fit.
What if the bust fits, but the waist is too snug?

What if the bust fits, but the waist is too loose?
We recommend you or a tailor adding darts or taking in fabric at the side seam or center back closure to take in excess fabric and create a tailored fit.
The shoulder straps are too long, what should I do?
We recommend you or a tailor tucking the excess fabric at the back of the bodice and sewing a tack to shorten the straps.
The shoulder straps are too short, what can I do?
There is excess strap fabric that is tucked within the bodice outer and lining layers. We recommend you or a tailor opening that seam and letting out the strap fabric to create more length. On average, there is an inch of extra strap fabric built-in to allow for more room for taller forms.
The skirt is too long, what should I do?
We recommend you or a tailor either hemming the skirt shorter at its existing hem or tacking up the first and/or second tier to create a shorter silhouette.
